Subject: RE: Dear Friends of the Texas Constitution Ratification Committee Date: Sat, 27 Nov 1999 09:01:02 -0700 From: "Donald D. Henson" Gene, I am forwarding your request and this response to the members of the Texas Constitution Ratification Committee. Your request was slightly misdirected. The request would more properly be addressed to the Texas Constitution Ratification Fund (TCRF), of which I am the current Executive Trustee, as the TCRF holds the copyright as a nominee for the Texas Constitutional Convention of 1997. Now that we've got the (dare I say it?) legal stuff out of the way, let me answer your request. The TCRF, and I assume the members of the TCRC will concur, has absolutely no objection to anyone using Texas Constitution 2000 as a working model. The ONLY restriction we would place on such use is that the derivative constitution be titled differently. Otherwise, the TCRF hereby grants anyone permission to use Texas Constitution 2000 as a working model for any other constitution-writing effort. (A reference to Texas Constitution 2000 would be nice but is not required.) > -----Original Message----- > From: Gene Karl [mailto:prosper@no-debts.com] > Sent: Friday, November 26, 1999 20:52 > To: tcrf@tcrf.com; anti-federalist > Subject: Dear Friends of the Texas Constitution > Ratification Committee > > > Dear Friends of the Texas Constitution Ratification Committee: > > It is with a jealous and envious eye that people in other > Republics here in America look upon the Constitution that > men and women have so carefully designed there in Texas > beginning on July 4, 1997 and finishing on July 11, 1998. > > We here in the other Republics wish to ask for your worthy > and admirable blessings and garner permission to use this > Texas Constitution 2000 as a working model for newly > proposed Constitutions in the other Republics.
