From: republic-of-texas@republic-of-texas.net Date: Mon, 11 Oct 2004 Subject: [texasrepublic] RTX News Update --------------------------------- Republic of Texas Passports - Why? --------------------------------- The Republic of Texas Passport... Why should I get one? For the last nine years we Texians have been telling anyone who stopped long enough to listen that "We are the Republic of Texas. We are a nation in our own right, and have never been a state of the American Union. There is no treaty of annexation. We are a captive nation, invaded by the Union Army since June 1865." We have preached this, and argued it till we are blue in the face. For at least eight of those years, the people of the Republic of Texas have demanded of their government (first the Provisional and later the Interim) to begin issuing our own passports, just as any other nation on earth does. Since we invested the funds supplied for this purpose, approximately 60 Texians have sent in their forms and donations and have received their long-awaited passports. The rest of us may possibly need a better understanding of the value of this document, to help us decide to send for it. So here it is: The Republic of Texas Passport is the one outstanding document that clearly identifies the Texian National and his or her unique nationality, as an integrant and participant in the sacred cause of Freedom and Independence for our country: Texas. It is the mark of distinction par excellence of every true Texian. There is no better way to make a statement of: "I am a Texian National, a Citizen of the Sovereign Republic of Texas, and proud of it!" This fact alone should be reason enough to go ahead and make the investment. But that's not all. Carrying a Republic of Texas Passport will help you proclaim to the world your identification and solidarity with our political struggle to restore the Independence of our Nation and re-establish a proper and lawful republican form of government on our soil, in accordance with our founding fathers' wishes and intentions. Our issuance of passports is prima facie evidence that this is not only possible, but that we are that much closer to our goal of full national sovereignty and self-governance. By sending for your Republic of Texas Passport, you are also contributing to the cause, as well as receiving something tangible in return for your investment in Freedom. Not that we who are truly committed to the cause actually NEED such an incentive to contribute to the effort, right? But is is a reminder of our commitment and a reward for our faithful support. Our passport is also an alternate travel document. It is designed to conform to internationally accepted standards for passports. It includes a photograph of you, your name, date and place of birth, date issued and the serial number. All of these are items normally found in the passports of other nations. The passport has not been widely tested as a travel document, but this is because not enough travelers have acquired it and attempted to use it for international travel. U.S. immigration officers may show reluctance to honor the passports, mainly because the U.S. does not yet wish to acknowledge our right to Texian Nationality and humanity's imprescriptible right to travel freely, as long as the foreign country in question is willing to allow you to visit. This is one of the issues on which your Interim Government is working to resolve at this time. Which brings us to the fourth reason: Getting a Texas Passport shows your solidarity with and support of your Interim Government in its efforts to assist the Texian People in our quest for Independence and to secure the International Recognition of our Nation among the nations of the world. Please help us to help you in this quest for Freedom in Texas, by submitting your Passport Forms today.
