From: Jim Davidson Dear Friends, Gregg Paulson wrote several letters since my last post on his situation. The latest letter is the most urgent, and I'll try to get the others posted here, soon. Gregg writes, "Dear Mr. Davidson, They (TDCJ) are feeling the pressure. Please generate as many letters to Scott and Johnson as possible. The 4th of May is my hearing date for this half of the year, so time is of importance!" The purpose of the letters is to get Gregg placed back into the General Population and out of administrative segregation. Among the advantages of being in the general population is access to a library, a law library, a chance to see the sun, and so forth. On the back, he indicates that letters should go to: Director Johnson TDCJ Box 99 Huntsville, Texas 77342 and to: Wayne Scott TDCJ Box 99 Huntsville, Texas 77342 In a separate letter he suggests that it would be useful to send copies to George W. Bush and to Lt. Governor Rick Perry to add political pressure. Lieutenant Governor Rick Perry P.O. Box 12068 Austin, Texas 78711-2068 Governor George W. Bush P.O. Box 12428 Austin, Texas 78711-2428 Gregg asks for the following text, or something similar, to be sent to the above 4 individuals: Dear Sir: It has come to my attention that Gregg Paulson, #825838, is being held in administrative segregation, as a member of a "security threat group" which is called "Republic of Texas Militia." It has also come to my attention that Mr. Paulson has a trouble free history in TDCJ, and no previous criminal record. At the same time, many gang members of identified gang groups with numerous disciplinary problems are in the general population. I have been informed by information sent along from one TDCJ employee that there is no such "disruptive group" on the official list. In other words, "Republic of Texas Militia" is not listed as an official "security threat group." The group, if such exists, does not currently comply with guidelines for disruptive groups. I believe a mistake has been made classifying Gregg Paulson and would appreciate your help in correcting this mistake. Please return Mr. Paulson to the general population. Sincerely, etc. Please do what you can for Gregg and for freedom. Regards, Jim
