Subject: Re: [texasrepublic] The John Birch Society won't help the Republic of Texas Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2000 08:56:12 -0500 From: "Bernard Grover" Reply-To: texasrepublic@egroups.com ** Proprietary ** Gene: Recognition by the UN generally makes nations want to join. The UN website lists a number of nations who have "watcher" status but are not voting members. Additionally, there is the UNPO (www.unpo.org), which is a collection of nations and peoples who are not recognized by the UN. They include Hawai'i, Chechnya, Taiwan and many others. Most want UN membership. Texas is vehemetly opposed to membership, and we will consistently encourage other nations to do the same. Someone has to be the first to openly admit that the UN is not a peace organization. And since Texas is taking the lead in so many other ways right now, why not continue. >>> anti-fed@no-debts.com Tuesday, July 11, 2000 16:16:35 >>> http://www.no-debts.com/anti-federalist/unnato.html The John Birch Society wants the U.S. to 'get out of the U.N.', but they won't help Texas get out of the U.S. The sad part about that is, getting out of the U.S. would get Texas out of the U.N. unless they are again taken over and put back in. That kind of gives the John Birch Society plenty of job security, doesn't it? Too many patriots have this 'job security syndrome'. It's kind of like the 'cops love criminals' syndrome. The Republic of Texas, as well as the Republic of Georgia would be well advised to associate with nations who are also not a part of the U.N. Seeking recognition by the U.N. is not entirely a good thing. Are there nations that are recognized by the U.N. that do NOT belong to the U.N.? Or does a nation have to belong to the U.N. before it is recognized by that incidious body? gene karl
